MINI OPERA | VALUE CREATION + I AM COMING HOME + SIGRID H

Tomorrow's opera in a mini format, Short Stories, saw the light of day for the first time in 2016 and is the Royal Swedish Opera's tailor-made concept to produce new Swedish operas and at the same time give more composers and librettists the opportunity to write for the opera stage. In 2020, Short Stories II was staged at the Opera, and we do now show it again as a prelude to Short Stories III, which will be presented at the Royal Swedish Opera in May-June 2022.

Andrea Tarrodi studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, at the Conservatorio di Musica di Perugia, Italy and at the School of Music at the Luleå University of Technology. She mainly writes orchestral and vocal music and her pieces have been performed by most Swedish major orchestras, but also abroad. She has been house composer with the Swedish National Radio (P2) and the Västerås Sinfonietta and she was "Composer of the Spring" the the concert hall Berwaldhallen. In 2018 she was awarded a Grammy in the category best classical recording. Tarrodi is currently house composer with the Nordic Chamber Orchestra Nordiska Kammarorkestern). Sigrid H. is her first opera, inspired by Sigrid Hjertén – a beloved Swedish artist whose colorful paintings never cease to amaze us.

The other two operas presented in Short Stories II will be published as follows:
April 23 Value Creation
April 30 I am coming home
